Gujarati stars thank frontline workers, back PM Modi: Watch video

The actresses and politicians feature in a special song created to highlight the duties of doctors, nurses, police officers, sanitation workers and many others during the coronavirus pandemic.

The female artistes of the Gujarati film and theatre industry have come together to put together a video highlighting the efforts of the frontline workers, while backing prime minister Narendra Modi and his government’s initiatives during this coronavirus pandemic.

The video, dedicated to the ‘corona warriors’, features veteran actress and recent Padma Shri Sarita Joshi, television actresses Dipika Chikhlia, Apara Mehta and Sujata Mehta among others. Politicians Ranjanben Bhatt, Seema Mohile and Dr Jigishaben Sheth, the mayor of Vadodara, are also part of the special song along with Divya Chaudhary and Helly Bhatt. The women have all recorded their parts from home.

Footage of doctors, nurses, police officers, sanitation workers doing their job is interspersed with Modi’s speech. The lyrics of the song state that we are all together with the ‘corona warriors’ during  these tough times.

The song titled 'Hu Manu Chhu Aabhar Tamaro' has been composed by Abhijit Khandekar and written by Nilesh Mohite, who has also directed the video, which was released last week.
