Actor John Abraham has added another title to his banner, JA Entertainment, which has just acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Malayalam action thriller Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020).

The blockbuster film, which was released earlier this year, starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon and was directed by Sachy.

In a statement, John revealed why he chose the hit film to remake: "Ayyappanum Koshiyum is an entertaining film that strikes a perfect balance between action, thrill and a good story. At JA Entertainment, we are keen to bring such appealing stories to our audience. By doing what we do with dedication and focus, we hope to make a truly engaging film with this remake.

"This film also fits right into our future plans as we believe that the Hindi film industry will bounce back with efficient and entertaining projects soon after the COVID-19 crisis," he added.

The actor has previously produced films like Vicky Donor (2012), Madras Cafe (2013), Force 2 (2016), Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran (2018) and Batla House (2019). His banner's upcoming films include Attack (2020), an untitled romance starring Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh, and a biopic on Revathi Roy.

His acting slate for this year includes Mumbai Saga, Attack, and Satyameva Jayate 2.
