Exactly a year ago, it was announced that Mithun Chakraborty’s youngest son Namashi Chakraborty would be making his big screen debut in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Bad Boy. The film will also launch Amrin, who is the daughter of film producer Sajid Qureshi. Now, a year later, the first poster of Bad Boy is out. It has a vibrant picture of Chakraborty and Amrin, who play two lovers.
The two actors appear to be sitting on a bike. There are various sketches made around the two actors in order to give a youthful feel to the poster. The yellow flame-like frame curling around Chakraborty and Amrin gives off a bold, fiery vibe, apt for for a 'bad boy' and a 'bad girl'.
Santoshi is known for his hard-hitting social dramas like Ghayal (1990), Ghatak (1996), Khakee (2004), etc. But Bad Boy seems to be in a more commercial zone like his films Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani (2010) and Phata Poster Nikla Hero (2013).
Santoshi hasn’t had a film release in seven years, with his last film being the Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz-starrer Phata Poster Nikla Hero. In between, the filmmaker had expressed the desire to make the sequel of Andaz Apna Apna but that never happened. Even the sequel of his classic Ghayal, titled Ghayal Once Again (2016), was directed by the film’s main lead, Sunny Deol.
