Ready and Jabariya Jodi actor Mohit Baghel dies of cancer

Raaj Shaandilyaa and Parineeti Chopra offered their condolences on social media to the family of the 27-year-old.

In more sad news for the Hindi film industry, actor Mohit Baghel died today at a hospital in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, after battling cancer. He was only 27.

According to a source in the film industry, the cancer had affected both of Baghel's kidneys.

Mohit Baghel played supporting roles in a number of films like the Salman Khan-starrer Ready (2011), Gali Gali Chor Hai (2012), Salman Khan's Jai Ho (2014), Ekkis Toppon Ki Salaami (2014), Milan Talkies (2019) and Jabariya Jodi (2019). 

The news of Baghel's death was shared by his friend and writer-director Raaj Shaandilyaa on Twitter. Sharing a picture of Baghel, Shaandilyaa wrote an emotional note which roughly translates as, “My brother Mohit, what was the hurry to leave so soon? I had told you that the industry is on a halt for you to get better. You get well and then we will start working again. You act very well, so I will be waiting for you on the sets of my next film and you will have to come.”

Baghel’s Jabariya Jodi colleague Parineeti Chopra replied to Shandilyaa’s tweet and wrote, “One of the nicesttt people to work with! Happy, positive and motivated always. Love you Mohit. RIP.” 

Of all the films he did, Baghel was best known for his character Amar Chaudhary in Ready and Halla in Jabariya Jodi. During the launch of the song, ‘Zilla Hilela’ from Jabariya Jodi, he had come on stage since he too was a part of the song.
