On Tuesday 19 May, a domestic worker at Boney Kapoor’s residence tested positive for the COVID-19 illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Now, two more members of the producer’s residential staff are learnt to have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Following the positive test of a staff member earlier in the week, the entire Kapoor family and the rest of the staff members were also tested and two more staff members were found to be infected.
Boney Kapoor and his daughters Janhvi and Khushi tested negative. However, the entire family is undergoing home quarantine as a precaution. The news was confirmed by Boney Kapoor’s publicist.
Kapoor’s spokesperson told the Indian Express newspaper that all the three staff members who tested positive were asymptomatic. "Boneyji, Janhvi and Khushi are doing well," the spokesperson said. "Boneyji is making sure his staff members are safe and get all the treatment required. Those who have tested positive are in quarantine now and Boneyji, Janhvi and Khushi are also continuing precautionary home quarantine.”
Boney Kapoor’s Maidaan (2020) is currently in the making. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, the film is a biopic of independent India's first national football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, played by Ajay Devgn.
