Kamaal R Khan's love for controversial remarks has landed him in yet another pickle. A first information report (FIR) was lodged against the one-time actor and now serial tweeter on Wednesday for certain offensive comments on the late Rishi Kapoor and the late Irrfan Khan.
The complaint was lodged by Rahul Kanal, a core committee member of the Yuva Sena, youth wing of the Shiv Sena, at the Bandra police station.
A report by the Press Trust of India news agency quoted a senior police officer as saying, "We have registered an FIR against Kamaal R Khan for making derogatory remarks about both the deceased actors under section 294 [punishment for obscene acts or words in public] and other provisions of the IPC."
Khan, best known by his initials KRK, had posted two tweets on 29 April and 30 April, allegedly denigrating Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, respectively. Irrfan Khan died on 29 April while Kapoor died the following day.
Both tweets have since been deleted by KRK. While it is not yet known what exactly he said about Irrfan Khan, he allegedly made a sarcastic comment about Kapoor's love for drink.
Khan has been in social-media controversies frequently. He had once made sexist jibes against screenwriter Kanika Dhillon. He had also accused filmmaker Vikram Bhatt of threatening him.
