Netflix’s upcoming zombie thriller Betaal (2020) stars Viineet Kumar. The show is set in a remote village where a battalion led by a colonel from two centuries ago has got infected and turned into zombies. The trailer for the web-series showed Vineet Kumar as army officer Vikram Sirohi who leads his squad into the village but gets trapped and has to fight the zombie army to try and make it out alive.
Now, the makers of Betaal have released a character teaser for Vineet Kumar's Sirohi. The trailer showed him batting the zombie army while this clip focuses on his battle with his own inner demons. The short clip shows Sirohi receiving orders from his senior officer to kill a girl who is the sole witness to some atrocities committed by the troops. We also see him go into a Naxalite-prone area where he is ordered to open fire on unarmed villagers.
Sometimes the only way to get rid of your fears is to confront them. Presenting the terrific Viineet Kumar as Vikram...

This new clip also reveals that instead of plain old horror, the show will also deal with other prevalent but neglected issues such as how the indigenous people of the Indian subcontinent get caught in the crossfire between the army and the left-wing insurgents.
This zombie thriller has been written and directed by Patrick Graham, who earlier helmed the Radhika Apte-starrer Ghoul (2018), and Nikhil Mahajan. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, the show also stars Jitendra Joshi, Aahana Kumra, Siddharth Menon and Suchitra Pillai.
