Asha Bhosle, Hariharan among 211 singers who sing an anthem of unity in 14 languages


'Jayatu Jayatu Bharatam, Vasudev Kutumbakkam', which has been composed by Shankar Mahavevan, is the brainchild of Sonu Nigam and the Indian Singers Rights Association.

The Indian Singers Rights Association (ISRA) has released a song, 'Jayatu Jayatu Bharatam, Vasudev Kutumbakkam,' symbolising the self-reliant and united face of India during the COVID-19 crisis. A brainchild of Sonu Nigam, Srinivas, and Sanjay Tandon, ISRA CEO, 211 singers from all over India have taken part in this initiative.

The song has been released across 100 platforms, including TV, radio and social media. The proceeds from the song will be donated to the PM Cares Fund. 

The song has been sung in 14 languages, which includes Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Kashmiri, Sindhi, Rajasthani, and Odiya.

It has been composed by Shankar Mahadevan, who has also sung a small part of this song, while Prasoon Joshi has written the lyrics.  

Besides Nigam and Mahadevan, the song features singers Asha Bhosle, Anup Jalota, Alka Yagnik, Hariharan, Kailash Kher, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Kumar Sanu, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Pankaj Udhas, SP Balasubramanian, Shaan, Sudhesh Bhosle, Suresh Wadkar, Shailendra Singh, Udit Narayan among others. All the artistes recorded their parts at home.
