Upcoming filmmaker AV Arun Prasath was killed in a road accident in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, late last evening. The filmmaker had directed the GV Prakash Kumar-starrer 4G. The film, in which he has been credited as Venkat Pakkar, was to have been his directorial debut but was indefinitely delayed for several reasons.
News of the filmmaker's death was shared by GV Prakash Kumar. The actor-composer expressed deep sorrow on Twitter on Arun Prasath's death, saying, "I am deeply saddened by the demise of my dear friend Venkat Pakkar, who was always filled with positivity. My deep condolences to his friends and family members. I will pray to the almighty for his soul to rest in peace."

AV Arun Prasath began his career by assisting director Shankar on the film I (2015). Shankar expressed shock at the death of his former assistant.

Arun Prasath had announced his first film, 4G, with GV Prakash Kumar in the lead back in 2016. While the shooting began that same year, the film remains unreleased till date.
