Every day thousands of struggling actors and writers arrive in Mumbai from all over India. Their only dream is to get noticed by filmmakers. Ghoomketu (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is just another such guy in that faceless crowd of strugglers. He is a struggling writer who has come to the city to pitch his stories to producers.
Newly-arrived in Mumbai, Ghoomketu is in complete awe of the city. But unknown to him, he has been reported as a missing person. Badlani (Anurag Kashyap), a lazy, corrupt officer has been assigned to find him. Things take a comical turn when Ghoomketu goes to Badlani to report the theft of his script.
The farcical tone of the teaser is a clear indication that Ghoomketu will be a comical affair, despite the serious nature of its content. Siddiqui, as always, looks perfect in the role of an innocent writer, who is oblivious to the ugly side of Mumbai. Kashyap too fits the role of the corrupt cop.
We also see glimpses of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Ranveer Singh, who make a guest appearance in the film. Ghoomketu also stars Raghuvir Yadav, Swanand Kirkire, Ila Arun and Ragini Khanna in supporting roles.
Directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra and produced by Phantom Films and Sony Pictures Networks (SPN).
Ghoomketu will premiere on Zee5 on 22 May.
