Actor Jitendra Joshi, musician Dub Sharma and director Samit Kakkad have collaborated for a song called, 'Police Rap' as a tribute to the Indian police force, which has been working tirelessly during the lockdown.

This rap number has been penned by Joshi in the typical Mumbai lingo, which we are used to hearing in most rap songs these days. The songs in Gully Boy (2019) too were written in this unique to Mumbai lingo. Not many know that Joshi started his career as a lyricist before becoming an actor. He has also sung the song. Sharma's beat-heavy music perfectly compliments the rap.

In the video, Joshi can be seen singing the song from his terrace, with a collage of short clips featuring police officers on duty. The video has been edited by Ashish Mhatre and Apurva Motiwale Sahai.

It is a heartwarming tribute to the Indian police force. Currently, in Maharashtra alone, more than 1,000 police personnel have tested positive for COVID-19, while seven have lost their lives to the deadly disease.
