Arunava Khasnobis’s Sin starring Aryan D Roy, Sweta Mishra and Lakshya Punjabi, is a series that deals with crime, sex and drugs, going by its trailer. The web-series is set in Bengal and will also be dubbed in Bengali.
The protagonist here is a cop Samar Saxena (Roy), who has been assigned a case involving the murder of a young girl in Kolkata. This is soon followed by four more murders in the city, which increases the pressure on Saxena. It is found that all murders involve the use of drugs. Hence, there are orders by the chief minister that she doesn’t want ‘Udta Bengal’ [reference of the Hindi movie Udta Punjab (2016)].
Saxena travels to various parts of Bengal to trace the killings and gets frustrated regularly. At the same time, the story also features two young couples – Faizan-Parveen and Palash-Jui – who are into naughty activities. Their lives also get intertwined by the case of four murders.
Sin has an intriguing storyline and the trailer manages to hook you. The makes have shot the series in various real-locations, instead of using sets. The only issue here is that they have included too many incidents in the trailer.
Saxena looks impressive as the main protagonist. The two couples also fit the bill.
Sin began streaming on Addatimes on 8 May.
