Last seen in the political drama Prassthanam (2019), Manisha Koirala will be a part of the upcoming Netflix original, Maska (2020), where she plays a Parsi mother to actor Prit Kamani.
The actress shared the look of her character, Diana Irani, online where she asked her fans about her new role. She has donned blue overalls and a pair of old-fashioned spectacles for the part.
How do I look in my new role? Tell the truth, #Maska ni maro ni. 😄 @netflixfilm @netflix_in

Her character Diana is trying to preserve the Parsi culture for her son Rumi in the film directed by Neeraj Udhwani. But Rumi doesn't want to continue the family legacy in the Irani cafe, instead, he has dreams of becoming a star on the big screen.
"I am playing an eccentric Parsi woman whose son has gone off track," Koirala told the news agency IANS. "I am trying to preserve the roots and heritage of the Parsi culture. My character wants to preserve her Irani cafe and restaurants as she wants to carry on her husband's legacy."
The coming-of-age film also features YouTube star Shirley Setia in her first film role. She plays Persis, a young woman Rumi is drawn to over one summer. Maska is due to be released on 20 March.
Koirala also has a small but key role in 99 Songs (2020), which is written by AR Rahman.
