The Taapsee Pannu-starrer Thappad (2020) ended its first week on a poor note with collections of a little over Rs21 crore nett, according to figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

After a decent opening weekend with a collection of Rs13.75 crore nett on its first three days, the film failed to hold up well on weekdays, continuing to drop every day.

The budget for this film by Anubhav Sinha was around Rs25 crore, according to trade sources, and the film is likely to cross that number heading into its second Monday. But the collections in the second week will be crucial to its overall success.

While Thappad faced little competition in the first week, it has to compete with the Tiger Shroff-starrer Baaghi 3 (2020) from today.
