When acclaimed filmmakers like Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari come together for a film, one can be sure the content will be worth it. The husband-wife duo are set to release their first short film, Ghar Ki Murgi, on the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March. The short film will be streamed on the SonyLIV platform.

The trailer for the short film captures the work and dedication of millions of women around the world that often goes unrecognized. The snippet begins with Sarita Tanwar's housewife running through the hurdles that are a part of her daily life. From getting the kids ready for school to preparing everything for her husband to taking care of her mother-in-law, the daily chores put her through the wringer. It is not easy, and yet, not one member of her family recognizes the stress and toll these chores are taking on her.

So, when she says she needs a break, they are puzzled. But it does not bother her. She goes on to plan her own vacation. The trailer stops just short of revealing whether the family manages to cope with her absence.

The short film has been written by Nitesh Tiwari and features Anurag Arora as Tanwar's husband. Speaking about the film to the IANS news agency, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari said, "Ghar Ki Murgi (Taken For Granted) is an emotional narrative close to my heart. Dressed in an artistic backdrop of Old Delhi, this story is about an Indian woman who is wrapped in the societal truth and colour of sentiments. I wanted to organically tell a story that creates empathy with the characters and catalyzes an inner change in every individual."

The short film will be streamed on the SonyLIV platform from 8 March.
