She trailer: An undercover operation goes wrong in this noir thriller

Imtiaz Ali might still be riding on the romantic high of Love Aaj Kal (2020), but the writer-director's latest work with Netflix, She, possesses all the qualities of a noir thriller. Written by Ali, the series features Aaditi Pohankar as a female constable, who goes undercover to nab a narcotics ring in Mumbai, only to wander into something darker and dangerous. 

The trailer for the series begins with Vijay Varma's drug carrier starting to describe the truth of the narcotics drug ring that the police are looking to break. It is then that Pohankar's Bhumika Pardesi, a constable in Mumbai, rises to the fore. Signed on to go undercover as a prostitute, Bhumika finds that her job requires her to do far more than she is comfortable doing. Whether she can go past herself, or whether she discovers something more about her own self through this dangerous trip, is left up to the series. 

The description for the series by Netflix, reads, "An undercover assignment to expose a drug ring becomes a timid Mumbai constable's road to empowerment, as she realizes her dormant sexuality's potential.”

The series is set to stream live on the platform from 20 March.
