Salman Shaikh, who is known for his roles in TV serials like Aghori and Haasil, is all set to make his debut in Hindi films with the soon-to-be-released Ram Rajya (2020). The film, which has been shot in Mumbai, Ranchi and some parts of Bihar, will see Shaikh playing a Muslim character called Abrar.

"This is a story that needs to be told, especially at this point in time when our country is in a mess and struggling with a so-called 'religious war'. Ram Rajya is nothing but a loud and clear message to society that it's not about the name, it is about what you do and how you follow the footprints of Shri Ram or any other god or idol. It's about humanity. My character Abrar has certain aims in life and wants to stand on his own feet and fulfill his father's dreams," explained the actor.

Talking about the film further, the actor said, "It was a great learning I would say, working with this team, everything was extremely good. I remember when we shot in Bokaro, a town in Jharkhand, the whole vibe of the place where the film is set is so blunt and real.

The film also stars Aman Preet Singh, who has previously worked in the Telugu film Ninne Pellabata (2020), and will be making his Hindi film debut with Ram Rajya.

Ram Rajya is directed by Nitesh Rai and written by Shivanand Sinha. The drama is produced by Prabir Sinha and presented by Li Helios Film in association with Y Star Cine & Television Pvt Ltd.

The film is set to be released on 2 April, the occasion of Ram Navmi, which is coincidentally also the birthday of Singh.
