Coronavirus update: 83 postponed indefinitely; health and safety of nation first, says Ranveer Singh

The release date of the upcoming sports drama 83, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, has been postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. Singh shared the news on Twitter.
83 is not just our film but the entire nation’s film. But the health and safety of the nation always comes first. Stay safe, take care.

The actor wrote, "83 is not just our film but the entire nation’s film. But the health and safety of the nation always come first. Stay safe, take care. We shall be back soon."
Touted as one of the most anticipated films of the year, 83 traces India's victory in the 1983 cricket World Cup. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and stars Singh, Padukone, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk and Tahir Raj Bhasin among others.
The Hindi film industry is facing huge losses due to the coronavirus outbreak as many states have closed down cinema halls. Apart from 83, the release date of two other anticipated films, Sooryavanshi and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, has also been postponed.
So far, there have been 206 positive cases of coronavirus in India.
