Dev Entertainment Ventures launched the official poster of their upcoming film, Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri, featuring Saswata Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee and Arpita Chatterjee in the lead. The film, based on Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumdar’s stories, Sarkar Moshaiyer Thole and Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri, tells the story in the form of a fairy tale.
In the film, despite the presence of Habu Chandra Raja, the state is ruled by Gobu Chandra Mantri, and the subjects are very happy as they have a market system that values all subjects equally.
The poster too suggests the Raja’s dependence on his minister, as Gobu Chandra is seen to be advising him. Their facial expressions show that the king is hardly in charge of governance while the minister seems to be wiser and with a lot of control.
It is difficult to understand the position of the queen, played by Chatterjee, as she stands, almost expressionless, in the poster. Her position might be indicating that she doesn’t have much agency in the governing body.
The attire of the three characters and the grandeur of the art direction seen in the background, suggests that the film has been made on a large scale.
Hobu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Mantri is slated for release on 1 May.
