While Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti by Windows Production is all set to hit the screens before Women’s Day on 6 March, the producer duo of Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, have announced three more films, which will be released this year. Of the three, Belashuru (2020) and Haami 2 (2020), previously titled Junior Pandit, are directed by the producers themselves, while the third is Kaushik Ganguly’s Lokkhi Chhele (2020), featuring his son, actor Ujaan Ganguly in the lead.

Known for their socially relevant films, Windows Production has different messages to convey with this lineup. Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti primarily deals with the stigma attached to women’s participation in various spheres of life and society. It features Ritabhari Chakraborty playing a female priest . It also features Soham Majumder, Subhasish Mukherjee, Manasi Sinha and Ambarish Bhattacharya in important roles.

Belashuru is a sequel to one of the director-duo’s most popular film, Belaseshe, featuring Soumitra Chatterjee, Swatilekha Sengupta, Rituparna Sengupta, Aparajita Adhya and others. It primarily deals with an elderly couple, and the dysfunctional relationships within a family. The film, which will see the lead actors reprising their roles, is set to be released on 5 July.

Lokkhi Chhele is national award-winning director Kaushik Ganguly’s first film with Windows Productions. It focuses on humanity, which is above religious discrimination and superstitious beliefs. The film is also Ganguly’s first project with his son, who made his debut with Windows Productions’ Rosogolla (2018), directed by Pavel. Lokkhi Chhele is scheduled to be released on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, in September.

Haami 2 is the sequel to Windows Productions’ highest-grosser, Haami (2018), dealing with issues of modern parenting and the ideal environment for children in school. The sequel will explore Bhutu’s character as a child prodigy, adept at solving difficult mathematical problems, His unique traits distinguish him from other children. Prosenjit Chatterjee will play a pivotal role in the film, while Shiboprosad, Gargee Roy Chodhury and Broto Banerjee will be seen reprising their earlier roles. Haami 2, a film for children, is likely to release during Christmas.
