The shooting of Srimanta Sengupta’s debut Bengali feature film, Abar Bochhor Koori Pore (2020) has been postponed due to the global outbreak of coroniavirus. The state has issued a stay on all public gatherings, at least till 31 March.

The shooting of Abar Bochhor Koori Pore was supposed to begin on 17 March at Kalimpong. However, the team has decided to take care of the safety of the cast and crew of the film first. They have also issued a press release, stating that the film will go on the floors when the time is right.

Abar Bochhor Koori Pore will feature Abir Chatterjee, Arpita Chatterjee, Tanushree Chakraborty and Abhishek Banerjee in lead roles. Widely known for his work in Hindi films like Stree (2018), Bala (2019) and Dream Girl (2019), among others, Banerjee will be making his Bengali debut with this film.

As the title Abar Bochhor Koori Pore suggests, the film is about a reunion. “As we grow older, the need to get together for reunions increases. I have been willing to make a film on Bengali middle-class for the last decade. For me, the process of people coming back together is important,” stated the director, while speaking to Sangbad Pratidin, a Bengali daily.

The reunion will be set in a location in the hills. The film will also feature Paran Bandopadhyay, Sumanta Mukherjee and Manu Mukhopadhyay.
