The Indian entertainment industry's losses for the month of March just keep mounting with shooting schedules across the country being disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The latest to be hit is Laal Singh Chadha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film's upcoming schedule this month has been put on hold following advisories from the Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association (IMPPA), the Western Indian Film Producers' Association (WIFPA) and the Indian Film and Television Producers' Committee (IFTPC).
Incidentally, Laal Singh Chadha is based on the 1994 Academy award-winning film Forrest Gump, featuring Tom Hanks, who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Laal Singh Chadha crew completed its previous schedule on 15 March. Kapoor Khan even posted a picture from the flight of Aamir Khan taking a nap on the return journey.
The film is being shot on live locations according to the storyline and requires both artistes to be present. As of now, reports suggest that the schedule has been put on hold and will be decided based on further decisions by the producers' associations and the health authorities.
Laal Singh Chaddha is set to be released by Christmas this year and the delay in shooting might prove to be a problem. The film is not alone in facing this situation, however. Work on several other films, like the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey, have been put on hold for the same reason.
