The Critics' Choice Film Awards also joined the long list of events that have had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event, which was scheduled for 14 March, was forced to cancel following the state government advisory to avoid public events and gatherings.
In a message put out on their social media feed on Saturday, the organisers announced that the public event had been called off, but the awards would be announced soon.

The announcement read, "In light of precautions for COVID-19, and building up on reccomendations of all expert advices, we have decided to cancel this year's Critics' Choice Film Awards Finale Event, scheduled for 14th of March at JW Mariott, Juhu, Mumbai."
While the announcement also revealed that it will be followed by "interesting interactions with our nominees", the awards are yet to be announced.
The second edition of the Critics' Choice Awards, was sponsored by the Film Critics Guild and organised by the Motion Content Guild in collaboration with Vistas Media Capital.
Nominations in eight languages had been introduced this year. Films like Gully Boy, Hellaro, Kedara, Jersey, Anandi Gopal were among those nominated.
The event is the latest in a line of public events, like the IIFA (International Indian Film Awards) and the Zee Cine Awards which had to be cancelled. Several cinema festivals as well, including the Beijing International Film Festival, and the SXSW Film Festival (which has turned to digital screenings), were also cancelled.
