Actress Kajal Aggarwal has been signed as the replacement for Trisha, who recently opted out of Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Telugu film Acharya.
On Saturday, 14 March, Trisha took to Twitter to announce that she’s opted out of Chiranjeevi’s film.
She tweeted: “Sometimes things turn out to be different from what was initially said and discussed. Due to creative differences, I have chosen not to be part of Chiranjeevi sir’s film. Wishing the team well. To my lovely Telugu audiences- hope to see you soon in an exciting project."

Apparently, soon after Trisha chose to exit the project over creative differences, the makers approached Kajal Aggarwal. As per a source from the film’s unit, Kajal has given her nod.
Kajal had previously starred with Chiranjeevi in his comeback Telugu film Khaidi No. 150 (2017), which is a remake of Tamil film Kaththi (2014).
Meanwhile, the makers on Sunday, 15 March, announced that they’ve stopped shooting in the wake of coronavirus scare and will not resume until further notice.
Being directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya is being made on an estimated budget of Rs140 crore. The film will feature Chiranjeevi in dual roles.
The movie will be about middle-aged Naxalite-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the Endowments Department over misappropriation and embezzlement of temple funds and donations. Ram Charan might play Chiranjeevi’s younger version in the flashback portion.
