The song, 'Amar Etarata' from Soukarya Ghosal’s upcoming film Rawkto Rawhoshyo, is a melancholic yet soothing composition by Debdeep Mukhopadhyay. The composition doesn’t have much variation in terms of its tune, rather it allows the lyrics to stand out, reflecting the journey of the film's protagonist.

As the trailer of Rawkto Rawhoshyo suggests, Koel Mallick plays Swarnaja, a radio jockey and a single mother in the film, who receives a call on her live show from a stranger, which triggers her journey to find her missing child.

The lyrics focus mostly on her memories with her child. The visuals feature Swarnaja clinging on to all the mementos associated with the child. They also offer glimpses of her life, that seems to have suffered many losses. The song paints the picture of a character, who has struggled throughout her life with her emotions and relationships. For Swarnaja, the memories of her pregnancy and nurturing the child, seem to be the brightest chapter of her life.

Lagnajita Chakraborty does justice to the simplistic approach of the song, with her voice texture that brings out the sense of intimacy in the lyrics as well as the composition. A sense of acute loneliness and loss pervades the entire number. The song uses words from daily life, which also help in shaping the character of Swarnaja, and her journey, before the audience.

Rawkto Rawhoshyo will be released on 10 April.
