After Hate Story 4 (2018), Urvashi Rautela has bagged another movie where she will be playing the lead character. Directed by Ajay Lohan, the film has been quirkily titled, Virgin Bhanupriya. According to the filmmakers, Rautela plays a college girl desperate to lose her virginity.
Revealing details about the film, an official statement from the filmmakers said, “She thinks it should be the easiest thing in today’s world. However, all her attempts go in vain and as a soothsayer predicts, it is an impossible task that won't happen ever in her life. What happens after that, and whether she succeeds in her mission or not, forms the whole narrative of the film”
Despite the nature of the theme, the filmmakers have claimed that they are targeting a family audience. “Contrary to its name, Virgin Bhaupriya is a family comedy that explores the relationship between youngsters and their families,” added the statement.
The filmmakers have released a still from the film, where Rautela is seen standing against a wall with graffiti, mostly funny phrases related to losing one's virginity. The one that stands out is 'Apna Time Aayega.'
Throwing more light on the subject and her character, Rautela said, “I play a girl who is seeking companionship but fails every time she tries to work on being in a relationship. Though the film is hilarious, it is not a slapstick comedy. I loved the way it tells an important story in an entertaining way.”
Director Lohan has earlier worked as an associate director in Karzzzz (2008) and Calendar Girls (2015).
Virgin Bhanupriya will be released on 12 June.
