Tara Sutaria made her film acting debut with Dharma Productions' Student Of The Year 2 (2019) opposite Tiger Shroff. Her next film, Marjaavaan (2019), which had a decent showing at the box office, saw the actress play a blind woman. The revenge drama also starred Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh.
Suri, who directed Ek Villain (2014), will direct the sequel as well. The earlier film featured Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor with Deshmukh as a menacing serial killer.
Suri's previous directorial venture, Malang (2020) starring Roy Kapur and Patani, is on the last legs of its theatre run. The film has made a decent collection so far.
The Ek Villain sequel is being produced by Ekta Kapur and Bhushan Kumar. The film is scheduled to be released on 8 January 2021.
