There is an addition in the cast of Sanjay Gupta's Mumbai Saga. Rohit KaduDeshmukh, who has acted in a few films before like Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), Pari (2018) and Triple Seat (2019, Marathi), has bagged a role in the crime drama.
Rohit KaduDeshmukh is a grandson of yesteryear Marathi actress Usha Chavan, best known for her partnership with Dada Kondke that delivered several hits in the 1970s and 1980s. Apart from acting and handling other business ventures, KaduDeshmukh has also co-produced films like 1921 (2018), Blackmail (2018) and 66 Sadashiv (2019). Recently he announced his foray into the digital medium and is collaborating with Zee5 and Hotstar to co-produce a Marathi and a Hindi web-series.
Mumbai Saga is a crime drama set in 1980s Mumbai and is said to be based on real-life incidents. The film stars Emraan Hashmi as a police inspector and John Abraham as a gangster. Along with John and Hashmi, Mumbai Saga stars Suniel Shetty, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy and Prateik Babbar.
The film is in the last leg of shooting. The makers have planned a 12-day schedule at Hyderabad's Ramoji Rao Film City next month, but it is now in doubt given the spike in COVID-19 cases in Telangana. Recently, a trial shoot of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR was also cancelled for the same reason.
