Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer of their new show Rasbhari on the same day that the show will begin streaming on the OTT platform. Generally, trailers are released a week before a show premieres so the decision seems perplexing.
The story of Rasbhari revolves around Shanoo Bansal (Swara Bhasker), a newly appointed English teacher in the small town of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Men as well as young minds studying in her school are infatuated by her beauty. Nand Kishore Tyagi (Ayushmaan Saxena) is one such student. He manages to convince her to give him private tuition.
But Nand soon realizes that Shanoo is more than what meets the eye. The teenager discovers that his teacher has an alter-ego named Rasbhari, who is a seductress. Things take a turn for the worse when he discovers that there is a witch-hunt against Shanoo initiated by his own mother. Will he be able to save her?.
The show also stars Sunakshi Grover, Pradhuman Singh, Chittaranjan Tripathy, Neelu Kohli, Manju Sharma, Aruna Soni and newcomers Akshay Batchu and Akshay Suri.
Rasbhari is directed by Nikhil Bhat, who had earlier directed the satirical comedy Brij Mohan Amar Rahe (2018). Produced by Applause Entertainment, Rasbhari has been created by Tanveer Bookwala and Shantanu Srivastava, who has also written the series.
Rasbhari will stream on Amazon Prime Video from 25 June.
