Shilpa Krishnan Shukla, who has made several indie films over the past decade, released her award-winning film Tashi (2018) on YouTube yesterday. The film will be available for viewing till 28 June as part of a collaboration with the Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati.
Written and directed by Shukla, the film was an official entry at the festival in 2019 where it won the Best Screenplay award. Tashi stars Tania Mukherjee, Charan Singh, Ila Maheshwari, Sai Pogaru and Anvita Gupta. Sai Poguru has been part of other films by Shukla like Kathaah@8 (2019) and Dots (2020).
The filmmaker recently released Dots, a lockdown special on loneliness during the COVID-19 pandemic, on her YouTube channel.

Tashi has travelled to 16 film festivals, winning 14 awards for acting, best screenplay and best film, among other categories. The film was also nominated for the NETPAC award at the 2019 Bengaluru International Film Festival.
