Undekhi teaser: Eerie murder mystery set in the Sunderbans

There is something about murder mysteries set in quiet scenic towns. A beautiful town shaken by a brutal murder, is a template usually associated with Nordic noir thrillers. The teaser of the SonyLiv original series Undekhi hints at similarities with such thrillers.

The 45-second teaser starts with a beautiful aerial shot of policemen sailing through the Sunderbans of West Bengal. They are going to examine the half-eaten dead body of a policeman. Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who heads the investigation, is informed that the dead body is three days old and has been eaten by a wild animal after his death. There is also a mention of tribal girls going missing indicating that these two incidents are somehow connected.

Despite its short length, the teaser intrigues you with its eerie atmosphere. It seems that the jungles of Sunderbans will also play a crucial part in the story.

Undekhi features an ensemble cast consisting of Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harsh Chhaya, Surya Sharma, Abhishek Chauhan, Ayn Zoya, Ankur Rathee, Apeksha Porwal and Anchal Singh. 

It has been produced for Applause Entertainment by Siddharth Sengupta's Edgestorm Productions and directed by Ashish R Shukla. Undekhi is the second SonyLiv original series to be made in collaboration with Applause Entertainment after Your Honor (2020).
