After key turns in films like Tumbbad (2018), Article 15 (2019) and Chippa (2020), actress Ronjini Chakraborty will now be seen in the new web-series Lalbazaar, directed by Sayantan Ghosal and presented by Ajay Devgn. She was also seen in the Amazon Prime web-series Made In Heaven, co-created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, and MX Player's Raktanchal, which was premiered last month.

The actress elaborated about her character which adds to the mystery of the web-series. “Farzana is a young girl living in the slums and taking care of her father,” she said. “She is the sole bread-earner. Due to circumstances, she has to take up prostitution. Every character is mysterious and the mystery unfolds with every episode.”

The mysterious Farzana has so much going within her that she is not able to express. "She is also righteous and fearless and stands for justice. She is vulnerable, yet with big heart,” Chakraborty added.

Set in Kolkata, Lalbazaar will keep the viewer on the edge of her seat, according to Chakraborty. “I'm really happy with the overall response it's getting. Since I have been waiting for [it] eagerly and now I feel it has released at the right moment when most of us can watch. Ajay Devgn joining and lending his voice to the trailer of the show has just given the series a larger-than-life image and has definitely been icing on the cake. The credibility of the show just got increased by a huge level,” the happy actress said.
