John Abraham, Milap Zaveri resume work on Satyameva Jayate 2

The ease of lockdown has enabled quite a few stalled projects to resume. One of them is writer-director Milap Zaveri’s Satyameva Jayate 2 (2020) which was originally scheduled to be released on 2 October, Gandhi Jayanti, this year. 

Zaveri shared pictures with John Abraham, the main lead, clicked at the former’s residence. The two are seen having a discussion. Zaveri captioned the image, “Reunited with my Hulk, my Hero, my Ram, John Abraham after 3 months!” 

Producer Bhushan Kumar told the tabloid Mumbai Mirror about the further developments. “SMJ 2 is a film we are all excited about since the beginning. Milap met John and they worked together on the scenes and dialogue. We are expecting the cast and crew to be ready to shoot by August. My co-producers, Nikkhil and Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani are also working with the team to ensure everyone strictly adheres to the safety guidelines laid down by film bodies and the government. We will fix a date for the schedule soon,” he said. 

Also starring Divya Khosla Kumar, Satyameva Jayate 2 was supposed to go on floors in April this year, but couldn’t because of the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. Zaveri told the publication that he has reworked on few things. “I have reworked the action scenes and punch-lines during the lockdown and narrated them to John. John has been working out through the lockdown and seeing his biceps, I’m looking forward to shooting them,” he said. 

Satyameva Jayate 2 is the second film in the franchise. The first one released in 2018. Along with Abraham, it starred Manoj Bajpayee and Aisha Sharma.
