Mithun Chakraborty will not celebrate birthday due to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, COVID-19 pandemic

Chakraborty’s son Namashi had posted a subtle message on Twitter yesterday over the blame game going on for Rajput’s death on social media.

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty turns 69 today. But the actor has decided to not celebrate his birthday today because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the recent tragic death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput by suicide.

Chakraborty’s son Namashi told the news agency Indo-Asian News Service (IANS), “Given the current scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic and the untimely demise of our dear colleague Sushant, this year me and my father have decided to have no celebration on birthday and we urge people to stay safe and stay indoors as much as they can.”

“No matter who we are, we really don’t know what someone in our friends and family circle is going through,” added Namashi. “Allow their thoughts and feelings to come out in the form of words. We all can save a life by just building a small habit of listening.”

Namashi had posted a subtle message on Twitter yesterday over the blame game going on for Rajput’s death on social media. “Respect the deceased. Celebrate the good and inspiring work left behind. Don’t turn this into a blame game. Don’t take out your frustration when someone has tragically died. Share sources where people can deal with their mental illness. Reach out. Complain later. Be helpful first,” he said.

Namashi will be making his acting debut with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Bad Boy later this year.
