Well-known television actress Hruta Durgule is all set to make her Marathi film debut with Ananya. Her fans have been awaiting to see her on the big screen. The film was all set to release on 31 July this year but has now been postponed indefinitely.
The lockdown imposed because of the COVID-19 pandemic has set the film release calendar haywire in the entire world. Hence, the postponement of Ananya doesn’t come as a surprise.
The makers shared the news through an innovative video. It shows Durgule’s character Ananya all set to come face the audience. But her on-screen father politely stops her and explains the need to be patient right now, thereby indicating that the film will be released at a later date. He also advises her to arrive with a "bang."
Produced under the banner of Ravi Jadhav Entertainment and Dreamweaver Entertainment, Ananya is adapted from a Marathi play of the same name. The film is directed by first-timer Pratap Phad, who had directed the play, where actress Rutuja Bagwe played Ananya.
Ananya is about a happy-go-lucky, passionate young girl who has a perfect life until a tragic incident leaves her shattered.
