Sagarika Music,  which has produced many memorable music albums for Marathi audiences, has released the first song from its latest album, Retro VA. As the name suggests, the album will feature songs inspired by the music of the 1950s.

The track, 'Suvasini', which features actress Sayali Salunkhe, has been sung by Vaishali Samant and its music has been composed by Nilesh Moharir. The track seems to be inspired by traditional Marathi wedding songs and Moharir has done a wonderful job of mixing elements of traditional wedding music in contemporary style. The percussions, especially the dholki beats, add to the charm of the song.

Samant, who has sung many popuar numbers for Sagarika Music, like 'Aika Dajiba' and 'Mera Dadla', has done full justice to the playful number. Shripad Joshi's lyrics perfectly capture the euphoric feelings of a newly-wed bride.

The video, which seems to have been shot during the lockdown, has Salunkhe, draped in a traditional saree, performing some dance movements. We also see Samant singing the song.

The album has seven more tracks and Sagarika Das, the founder of the music label, plans to release them this year.
