Director Ashish R Shukla’s Hindi web-series Undekhi is all set to release this week. He is also looking ahead to the release of his upcoming film titled Bahut Hua Sammaan starring Sanjay Mishra, Raghav Juyal, Abhishek Chauhan and Ram Kapoor. The film will be released directly on an OTT (over-the-top) platform later this year.
Sharing details about the film, Shukla said in an official statement, “Bahut Hua Sammaan is a satirical comedy about two mechanical engineering students, played by Juyal and Chauhan, whom you've seen in the TVF [The Viral Fever] series, Cubicles (2019). Both are small time conmen, who decide to rob a bank as per a masterplan concieved by their know-it-all college friend ‘Baba’, played by Mishra.”
Shukla added, “Both students are all set to get their hands dirty and rich before their paper perfect plan falls apart, opening a Pandora’s Box and awakening the beast, played by Ram Kapoor. I hope it will release on a leading platform as soon as possible. It was supposed to come by summer itself but then the lockdown happened.”
The director is in awe of both Juyal and Chauhan's comic timing. “It never felt like just working together, we had immense fun on the sets where we kept playing, experimenting and improvising scenes,” he said. “Both actors are masters of comic timing, that's what the film needed, especially wherever we improvised or created something on set.”
Shukla added that he chose the entire cast, which includes Nidhi Singh, Namit Das, Flora Saini, Rohit Chaowdhary, Bhupesh and Sharat, because of their comic timing. “So that it becomes easy to improvise and play along,” he added.
The title of the film is inspired from the song from Mukkabaaz (2018), ‘Bahut Hua Sammaan, Tumhari Aisi Taisi’, he added.
