In the past couple of months, the OTT platform Zee5 has released a few films like Ateet (2020), Bamfaad (2020) and Ghoomketu (2020) while others like Virgin Bhanupriya (2020) are slated for release soon.
Now the streaming platform has lined up yet another film for release soon. Titled Aafat-e-Ishq, the Zee Studios film is an official remake of a Hungarian film Liza, The Fox-Fairy (2015). The remake has been directed by Indrajit Nattooji and stars Neha Sharma.
Sharma, who was previously seen in the Voot original web-series Illegal (2020), is naturally excited for the film. “Aafat-e-Ishq is a fresh dark comedy with a hint of the supernatural to it which acts as a catalyst throughout the film," she said in a statement. "I loved the Hungarian version and while I have tried to take as much influence from it [as I could], I was still looking at making it my own."
Sharma said she was "extremely thrilled" about the film and was looking forward to the reaction of viewers to her role. Along with Neha Sharma, Aafat-e-Ishq stars Ila Arun, Namit Das, Gautam Rode and Pravesh Rana.
The film has been produced by Zee Studios. Speaking about the project, Zee Studios Original head Ashima Avasthi said, "Aafat-e-Ishq takes the audience on a complete emotional roller-coaster ride of love, lust, intrigue and mystery with a little bit of the supernatural that will keep you at the edge of your seat. We are excited to partner with ZEE5 to bring this black comedy to our audiences soon.”
