Saregama, India's oldest music label, has come on board for Akshay Kumar's upcoming period film Bell Bottom.
Talking about partnering with Pooja Entertainment, Vikram Mehra, managing director of Saregama India Limited, said "Partnering again with an industry stalwart like Vashuji [producer Vashu Bhagnani] is an honour for Saregama."
Mehra added, "We are big fans of how Jackky [actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani] is taking the legacy of Pooja Entertainment forward. Given the scale, scope, and star cast of the film, we can together assure a chartbuster of an album in Bell Bottom."
Bell Bottom is an espionage thriller set in the 1980s. Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta.
Jackky Bhagnani hinted that the film's music would have a retro feel to it. "Bell Bottom is a very special film for me with a retro aesthetic to it," said the producer. "I am excited about how we will incorporate that through music. With Saregama as our music partner, I am confident we will achieve that."
The music composer for the film is yet to be announced.
Recently, the Bell Bottom unit flew to the United Kingdom on a chartered flight for an extended shoot. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic raging around the world, the makers have planned a start-to-finish shooting schedule.
Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, Bell Bottom is slated for release on 2 April 2021.
