Marathi actor Ashutosh Bhakare, husband of actress Mayuri Deshmukh, died, allegedly by suicide, yesterday.
The actor reportedly hanged himself at his residence in Nanded in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, about 580 km from Mumbai. He was 32.
A case of accidental death has been registered at the Shivaji Nagar police station in Nanded.
Though the reason for the suicide is not clear, it is believed that the actor was battling depression.
Bhakare had even shared a video on his Facebook wall a few days ago about depression and the reason why people end their lives.
Bhakare, who had worked in Marathi films like Ichaar Tharla Pakka (2012) and Bhakar (2014), married Deshmukh, a television actress, in 2016. Deshmukh became a household name in Maharashtra after starring in the TV serial Khulta Kali Khulena.
Besides his wife, Bhakare is survived by his parents and brother.
His death comes more than a month after Hindi film actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide, triggering a controversy about cliques and nepotism in the industry.
