Filmmaker SS Rajamouli yesterday revealed on Twitter that he and his family had tested positive for COVID-19. He said they were tested after developing mild fever a few days ago.

“My family members and I developed a slight fever a few days ago. It subsided by itself, but we got tested nevertheless. The result has shown a mild COVID-positive today. We have home quarantined as prescribed by the doctors,” the Baahubali (2015) director said.

He further revealed that he can’t wait to get better so that he can donate plasma for other more seriously ill patients.

“All of us are feeling better with no symptoms but are following all precautions and instructions," he said in another tweet. "Just waiting to develop antibodies so that we can donate our plasma.”

On the career front, Rajamouli is gearing up for his next release RRR. The film, Roudram Ranam Rudhiram, will be Rajamouli’s next big release after the Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017).

Producer DVV Danayya recently revealed that only 25% of the shooting is pending. Once the lockdown is lifted in Hyderabad and normalcy returns, the remainder of the film will be shot on a set in the Telangana capital.

In RRR, Jr NTR and Ram Charan play brothers in the modern-day portion and will be seen as Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju in the period portion which will be the flashback episode.

RRR is a fictional story set in the pre-Independence era but is based on the lives of two real heroes and revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.

“There are gaps in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters that we don’t know about," the director said at the film's launch last year. "We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. It is through this fictional story we would like to show what could have happened and what would have happened if they had met and bonded.”

The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris and Samuthirakani.
