The first song from Khuda Haafiz (2020), starring Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi, is a soothing, romantic number that traces all the stages of first love.
The song has been composed and written by Mithoon and the video is a collection of montages as we see Jammwal and Oberoi's characters slowly fall in love and get married.
The video beautifully traces the journey of their relationship from their first meeting to secretly messaging each other to riding on a bike together to their marriage.
It is an inter-faith love story and we see the characters get married in the tradition of both religions.
Jammwal has transformed himself from an action hero to a romantic guy who is completely infatuated by his lady love.
Mithoon's composition is melodious and hits all the right emotional notes. Through the lyrics, he expresses the couple's infatuation with each other and its slow blossoming into love.
The minimal use of percussion in the song brings more focus on the performance of Vishal Mishra and Asees Kaur who also sing in a softer tone to capture the innocence of first love. Both singers get equal opportunity and both do justice to the song.
Khuda Haafiz, directed by Faruk Kabir, is slated for release on Disney+ Hotstar on 14 August. Watch the song below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
