Rajat Barmecha’s first film as a writer will revolve around travel

The COVID-19 lockdown has given many of us the opportunity to do things we wanted to do since long, but never had the time. For actor Rajat Barmecha who made his breakthrough with Udaan (2010), it meant writing his first feature film.  

Speaking to us about his debut as a writer, he said, “For the last one or one-and-half years, I wanted to write a script. So, in the lockdown, I finished writing my first feature film. It’s a travel film. It’s very close to my heart. In 2021, I would want that to happen.” 

Apart from that, Barmecha’s next project will be the second season of a web-series he worked on in 2019. “Last year, I did a web-series called Hey Prabhu. It was directed by Shashanka Ghosh, who directed Veere Di Wedding (2018). We are doing season two of that show. As soon as the situation gets better, we will start shooting, mostly next month. That’s the project I am getting on right now,” he shared.

The actor revealed that he has got few other interesting offers in the lockdown. “I am still going through it and reading. If any of these offers work out, then hopefully there will be something big coming out by the end of this year,” added Barmecha.
