Andhadhun action director Parvez Khan dies of heart attack at 55


Khan complained of chest pain and was rushed to Ruby hospital in Mumbai, where he was pronounced dead.

Well-known action director Parvez Khan died yesterday in Mumbai due to a massive heart attack. He was 55. According to a report by the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), Khan complained of chest pain and was rushed to Ruby hospital in Jogeshwari, where he was pronounced dead. 

His assistant Nishant Khan told the agency, “He suffered a major heart attack in the morning. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. He didn't have any health issues but felt chest pain last night.” 

Khan started working in the action department of Hindi films around the late 1990s and has more than 40 films to his credit. He was known for his work in films like Ab Tak Chhappan (2004), Gangster (2006), Johnny Gaddar (2007), Dev D (2009), Ra.One (2011), Agent Vinod (2012), Kai Po Che (2013), Fukrey (2013), Shahid (2013), Badlapur (2015),  Andhadhun (2018) and Gul Makai (2020). His upcoming films are Dibakar Banerji's Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2020) and Class Of 83 (2020). 

Director Hansal Mehta shared the news on Twitter saying, “Just heard that action director Parvez Khan is no more. We had worked together in Shahid where he executed the riots sequence in a single take. Very skilful, energetic and a good man. RIP Parvez. Your voice still rings in my ears!”

Actor Jaaved Jafri, who recently lost his father and yesteryear actor Jagdeep, also paid tribute to Khan. “Another filmi brother passes on. Parvez Khan a prominent and highly proficient action director of Indian cinema was a great guy and a ‘dildaar’. God bless his soul and give the family strength to bear the grave loss. RIP,” he wrote on Twitter. 

Filmmakers Umesh Shukla and Suparn Verma also expressed their condolences.
