Khuda Haafiz trailer: Vidyut Jammwal goes all out to rescue his beloved

Vidyut Jammwal has carved a niche for himself in the action genre largely due to the three films in the Commando franchise. It's hardly surprising that his next film, Khuda Haafiz (2020), will also see him do what he does best, but with a minor difference. Unlike the Commando series, this fillm is also a love story between the characters played by Jammwal and Shivaleka Oberoi, as revealed by the trailer.  

The story of Khuda Haafiz takes place in 2008, when the world was going through a severe economic recession. The crisis also impacts the life of the newly-wedded Sameer (Jammwal) and Nargis (Oberoi). In order to improve their lives financially, Nargis grabs an offer to work for a few days in the Middle East, country not specified.  

But once she arrives, she finds that she has been tricked into being a sex worker. Nargis manages to contact Sameer, who then makes it his mission to bring her home safely. For this, he is ready to face anything and anyone.

It is refreshing to see Jammwal in role where he is required to emote. Of course, the latter half of the trailer sees him revert to form as he goes all out in the action sequences. In fact, moments into the promo, one realises that this film, like his previous ones, will also be packed with action.  

The film also features Annu Kapoor, who shows promise as a local who helps Jammwal. We don’t see much of Oberoi in the trailer, although she looks her part. 

Directed by Faruk Kabir, Khuda Haafiz will be released on Disney + Hotstar  on 14 August. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
