Classical Singer Pt. Iman Das

Classical vocalist Pandit Iman Das has released a music video featuring renowned singers from across the country to support the cause of education for underprivileged children impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Written, composed and conceptualised by the singer, the music video titled 'Anand Karo' was released on the occasion of Guru Purnima earlier this month.

Due to the pandemic, education of many privileged children from rural India has been effected as they can neither go to school or afford internet facilities to study online. Anand Karo is an initiative that will raise funds for these children and enable the organizational partners to support the children with laptops and smartphones.

With a few days of its launch, the music video has already garnered an excellent response from NGOs like Akshara Foundation and Garia Sathi, and has already received around Rs25,000.

The musical line-up includes singers of various genres all across Indian, like Hindi film playback singers Dev Negi and Aditi Paul; Kannada singer, TV anchor and actress MD Pallavi; Malayalam playback singer Mridula Warrier; Carnatic vocalist and fusion artiste Chandana Bala Kalyan; National Award-winning Bengali playback singer Iman Chakraborty; tabla maestro Rimpa Siva, Kathak dancer Vishal Krishna and mountaineer Satyarup Siddhanta, a Guinness Book of World Record holder.

Talking about the initiative,  Das said, "Music has great healing power. For me, Anand Karo symbolizes this and the collective consciousness of my fellow musicians in making the world a bit better through music. Tangibly, we hope to help children without any access to funds, to continue their education. All the funds will directly go to the beneficiaries."
