Emami Art's online documentary festival to host conversation sessions with filmmakers

Emami Art’s first online documentary film festival, launched on 16 July, had its last screening yesterday. However, the festival will continue with conversation sessions with the directors who had their films screened in the festival.
From 27 July onwards, audience will be able to converse with filmmakers Supriyo Sen, Pankaj Rishi Kumar, Miriam Chandy Menacherry, and Haobam Paban Kumar, after registering with the website for free. The festival will end with a panel discussion with the directors presented by curator Usmita Sahu and Richa Agarwal, the CEO of Emami Art, on 31 July.
The conversation sessions will take place from 27 July to 30 July at 4 pm and will continue for 45 minutes. The panel discussion will be an hour-long session with the directors on the topic, 'Documentary Filmmaking in India Today by Understanding the Ecosystem and its Challenges'.
The film festival screened two documentaries of each filmmaker. Sen’s The Way Back Home (2003) and Swimming Through The Darkness (2018), Pankaj Rishi Kumar’s Three Men & A Bulb (2006) and Janani's Juliet (2019), Menacherry’s The Rat Race (2011) and Lyari Notes (2015), Paban Kumar’s Mr India (2009) and Phum Shang/Floating Life (2014) were the eight documentaries that were screened.
