Last year filmmaker Priyadarshan announced the sequel to his superhit comedy film Hungama (2003). The film, Hungama 2 (2020), which went on floors last December, was near completion when the lockdown was imposed in March. Now, the director is left with one song to shoot and he is in a rush to complete it by September.
Besides Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Paresh Rawal, Meezaan Jaaferi and Pranitha Subhash, the film also stars four child artistes, between the ages of eight and 11, who have been steadily growing in height in the last four months. In order to avoid continuity issues, Priyadarshan is hoping to wrap up the song by September.
"At this age, children grow rapidly. There are changes in facial structure and height. While the physical changes that have happened in the past four months will not make a huge difference on screen, it will be difficult [to retain continuity] if we have to wait for some more months. Fortunately, only a song has to be shot with them," Priyadarshan told the daily newspaper Mid-Day.
The song will be shot in Kullu-Manali over 15 days, but the children will be required only for four days, said producer Ratan Jain. The cast and crew of the film heading for Kullu Manali for the shoot will be in quarantine before the schedule begins. The makers are planning to start shooting from 15 September.
Hungama 2, which retains only Rawal and Rajpal Yadav from the orginal, will be a completely new story.
