Ridley Scott and Kevin Macdonald come together for sequel to the YouTube film Life In A Day

Life In A Day 2020 invites people from across the world to film their day on 25 July for the sequel to the user-generated documentary, Life In A Day 2010

In July 2010, thousands of people picked up their cameras and filmed their day. Over 80,000 clips were submitted from 189 countries, and Kevin Macdonald and his team made a 90-minute feature from the 4,500 hours of footage that had been received. This unique user-generated documentary, Life In A Day, was then premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube.

Now, 10 years after the first film, YouTube Original has invited people the world over to come together and send in their clips once again, to be brought together to create a second feature-length documentary that will tell the story of another single day on Earth.

Life In A Day 2020 is slated to be premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube next year.

Executive producers Ridley Scott and Kai Hsuing, along with director Kevin Macdonald, have come together for this project.

All participants are to film their day, or that of someone else, on 25 July 2020. Submissions are open from 25 July till 2 August, after which a team will review the clips received and select them.
