Usha Jadhav is shooting for an international project in Spain

The film has been written by Alex Rodrigo, creator and director of the popular Netflix show Money Heist.

National award-winning actress Usha Jadhav has begun shooting for her upcoming international project in Spain.

Jadhav is shooting in the town of Fuentes de Ebro in Saragossa province for a Spanish film titled Nueva Normalidad.

The film has been written by Alex Rodrigo, creator and director of the popular Netflix show Money Heist, and is being directed by Argentinian filmmaker Alejandro Cortés Calahorra.

Jadhav shared her experience of working in the new COVID-19 environment with the tabloid newspaper Mumbai Mirror. "I flew here at the beginning of this month. It’s one of my favourite countries and I admire the director, Alejandro Cortés. It’s an amazing feeling to be back on sets.” she said.

Jadhav revealed that masks are compulsory on the set and no one is allowed to hug or even touch anyone. "Even our costumes are sprayed and so also the camera lenses," she told the paper.

The film's unit is working with a limited crew and that is why filming is taking a little longer than usual but, despite the difficulties, the team is following all the guidelines set by the authorities, she said.

Jadhav, who won the National award for Best Actress for her role in the Marathi film Dhag (2013), is enjoying working in a new language.

"I had to learn Spanish as part of my prep for this film and I really enjoyed learning this new language because every minute you discover something you didn’t know," she said.

Jadhav is also awaiting the release of her upcoming Marathi film Mai Ghat. Last year, she was adjudged Best Actress at the 50th International Film Festival of India for her performance in Mai Ghat.
